Coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you are planning on travelling distance to attractions, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Hythe Pier

Arriving at Hythe Pier, board the World's Oldest Pier Train (official Guinness World Record) and after the short ride of 640 metres (2,100 feet) you will have travelled along one of the ten longest piers in the British Isles.
Construction of the 19th century iron pier began in October 1879 and it opened with considerable pomp and ceremony on 1st January 1881. George VI, the Admiral of the Fleet, arrived at the pier to inspect the troops stationed locally before their departure to the Normandy landings.
